Robert C. Talbott, Managing Director of Acquisitions
Mr. Talbott brings nearly 20 years of multifamily experience to the Thompson | Dorfman Partners team and is responsible for acquisitions of existing assets and implementing repositioning strategies. Prior to joining Thompson | Dorfman, Mr. Talbott was Senior Vice President of Operations and Property Management for Essex Property Trust, a $3 billion real estate investment trust with properties on the West Coast, and served on its Investment and Asset Management Committees. Before joining Essex, Mr. Talbott served as Vice President and Division Manager of Asset management for BRE Properties based in San Francisco. Mr. Talbott's responsibilities included asset management for properties located in California, Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Colorado. He also initiated the company's asset redevelopment program. Prior to joining BRE, Mr. Talbott directed the lease-up of nearly $160 million of new development encompassing over 1,800 units.
Mr. Talbott holds a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Business Management from California Polytechnic Institute in San Luis Obispo and an MBA from Saint Mary's College in Moraga, California. He is a past president and board member of the Housing Industry Foundation and a past president and board member of the Tri-County Apartment Association.
